GÁRDIN ÁHKKU / GRANDMOTHER INGA
Even if you couldn´t live in the mountains anymore
Even if the memory had weakened
Even if the ears didnt hear anymore
Even if the legs didn´t carry anymore
We remember you
We see you
We know you
Our grandmother Inga
Even if the body had given up
Even if the breath resigned
We remember you
We see you
We know you
Our grandmother Inga
Grandmother, the place where you are now
is your reward from God
for all your struggles on earth
We thank you for this life
You are our grandmother Inga

HIRAS /DEMURE
You have to find me
Would you look for me?
I won´t come by myself
If you want to talk
Would you ask me?
I don´t respond by myself
I am so demure and fragile
You have to come closer
come closer
to hear me
I don´t believe in anything
I don´t have an opinion
If you don´t tell me what
I am so demure and fragile
I don´t trust anyone
I don´t have faith in anyone
not even myself
I´m not able to do anything
I can´t do anything
If you don´t accompany me

I know I have come to the right place

Stállus force
The scarce light of the polar season embraces all.
Then beware of Stallus force
The moon and the stars gives the snow a perfect golden glow.
The north is in winter solstice.
stallu rides in his sleigh,
beware his force, stallus force.
Keep your yard neat when stallu passes by.
please him with this trough of water outside the/your house.
careful child while on your sledge , he might come from to bag you.
The north is in winter solstice.
stallu rides in his sleigh,
beware his force, stallus force.

Stállus kraft
Mørketidens lys omfavner alt
Stallu med sin styrke skremmer
Stjernene og månen i mørket
- lager gullskjær i skinnende snø
Vintersolverv i nord
Stállu er på ferd med sin raid
Stállus kraft – stállus kraft
Ryddig utenfor huset så stállu fyker forbi
Sett vann utenfor så han blir fornøyd
Han er der om du drar for å ake
under bakken for å få fangst i sekken
Vintersolverv i nord
Stállu er på ferd med sin raid
Stállus kraft – stállus kraft

Ulda
Ulda is a Sámi mythical creature. They live underground in their own realm overflowing with wealth and richness. If you come across the ulda´s reindeer heard and manage to capture it by throwing a knife over it you will get wealthy. To men Ulda is irresistible with their long flowing hair and is usually dressed in the most beautiful gákti (sámi dress), with their tail hidden under the gákti. They would lure people to the underworld and keep them there forever. In Nordic mythology the uldas come and dance in the mist on the brightest day of the year, the midsummer night. Human beings who joined this feast were unlikely to return to the real world. If you find yourself in their realm you shall never drink or eat anything there. Ulda are said to exchange human infants with their own babies and Sámis use silver for protection which are hanged on cribs.

Čábbáseamos báiki / Beautiful place
Peacefully I sit here
Fire is burning
Wood is crackling in the embers
Smoke is dancing
A still lake is my mirror
The wind is howling
Lingonberry heathers my bed
Flowers my decor
The most beautiful place
Stars in the place of street-lamps
Birds are gossiping
Smoke from the fire burns the eyes
instead of exhaust
The most beautiful place
Look how everything foul dissapears in the water
look how it dissapears in the air
In this world nothing bad survives
Clouds in the sky tell a story
like a program
Path without asphalt
This is how it is
in the most beatiful place
